Act-On Names Bill Pierznik COO, Sharpens Focus on Product Development and Innovation

Act-On, the leading provider of adaptive marketing solutions for fast-growing businesses, announced that it has named former SVP of Business Development and General Counsel Bill Pierznik as Chief Operating Officer.

Portland, Oregon – January 4, 2018 – Today Act-On, the leading provider of adaptive marketing solutions for fast-growing businesses, announced that it has named former SVP of Business Development and General Counsel Bill Pierznik as Chief Operating Officer.

Pierznik brings to the role broad experience in fast-growing, software-as-a-service technology companies and complementary expertise to the other members of the senior leadership team. During his tenure at Act-On, Pierznik has worked closely with the product team and going forward, will oversee the day to day priorities for the product, engineering, customer service and legal teams.

“Bill’s hands-on experience and leadership in many facets of Act-On’s daily operations, coupled with his strong strategy skills and deep connections in the Portland technology community make him the perfect person to step into the COO role,” said Kate Johnson, Act-On CEO.

The company recently announced plans to restructure (see announcement) and consolidate operations in in its Portland, OR headquarters where customer-facing areas of the organization will now work side by side with the product development organization, bringing the voice of the customer closer to the product development teams. Act-On plans to hire approximately fifty new employees in Portland in the first half of 2018, primarily in its engineering and customer service organizations.

In addition, Act-On has promoted Ryan Brady, formerly VP of Finance and Business Operations, to CFO. Brady steps into the role vacated by Kate Johnson, now the company’s CEO. In his role as VP Finance, Brady was responsible for all finance functions including budgeting, strategic planning, reporting and forecasting. He comes to Act-On with extensive finance and business leadership experience spanning over 19 years.

Act-On has also named Jennifer Schoof to the position of General Counsel, replacing Pierznik in that position. Schoof comes to Act-On from Viewpoint, where she was Assistant General Counsel. At Viewpoint, Schoof supported the worldwide sales and channel organization, managed legal aspects of employment matters and was lead internal counsel on M&A activities.

In addition, Act-On has named Dave Hersh and Chris Masino as a strategic advisors to the company. Hersh, formerly founding CEO of Jive Software, is the managing director of Glimmer.ai, a small, technology-focused private equity firm with holdings in San Francisco and Portland. Masino is a proven global sales leader with extensive experience from start-ups to enterprise software companies.
