Social media is more relevant than ever, and staying on top of various trends is key for social media marketers. Here are three quick tips to consider:
- Go image heavy.
Users like to see images from a company that they wouldn’t see elsewhere. Images can range from relevant pictures to images of company events – albums of tradeshows, conferences or company milestones are always popular and users are exposed to a greater range of company activities.
- The new 3 Rs: Respond, Reply, Retweet.
Engage social media users and customers by being responsive. Questions, feedback and criticism are often provided through social media outlets, and it’s in a company’s best interests to respond. Any feedback on a public platform should be addressed in a direct, thoughtful way. Positive feedback should be re-tweeted or reposted to increase the visibility of the content, and criticism – which is the most time-sensitive feedback – should be dealt with as soon as possible.
- Go mobile.
Accessing social media through mobile devices increases the amount of material that can be posted. This doesn’t necessarily mean quantity over quality, but rather that the content can be integrated with other mobile applications to make the material more interesting. Mobile devices can both deliver and receive information quickly, which is key for social media marketers.
